Hi WillinuX, did you ever get anywhere with this?

I'm hoping to get the 8-frontend Megasat Server 3, but I've read elsewhere that it has troubles with the original firmware, so wondering if minisatip could be the solution...

Hi
If you provide remote access I can take a look.

Thanks

Hi,

I do not like this boxes as they almost all really slow and have at least crappy software, the Digibit R1 has also a hardware flaw.
I'ts better to go for a DD Octonet if you need to have a fixed hardware but it has its own drawbacks.

"Crappy software" could be compensated by installing minisatip :)
If the boxes are Linux based - and the CPU is known.
But the Octonet boxes look promising, although they cost much more compared the the "cheap consumer boxes".

Hi,
but modern STB's or PC hardware is in my opinion the better choice.

Yes - but ... sometimes size matters - you can mount those small SAT>IP Server boxes somewhere near the dish - and with 12V-15V even PoE would probably be possible.

Storing a "normal" reciever or even a PC would work that easy - at least not in my case.

There are ARM boxes that works too. But miznisatip should not be hard to Port if you have a compiler on those satip devices. I can take a look as long as there is remote access on the Linux.

are Those Abilis TB101 boxes really so slow?
how i have heard, those with 4 tuners, easily can stream up to 8 streams and have GB LAN.
Thats the reason, why im looking for such box, especially

CATA - what ARM box have GB lan & 4xDVBS2 ?
