MiniSatIP on VU+Ultimo vs. Digibit R1

Post by kianusch »

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody has made any tests regarding zapping performance?
Currently I'm testing minisatip on an VU+Ultimo (no 4K) and a Panasonic TV as client ... zapping performance is not that good.
Would it be better, if I switched to a Digibit R1 hardware as a server?

Hi,

Start minisatip with -l http and tune on a channel then switch to a new one.

Measure how much it passes on the tv to get image.

Thanks

VU+ ULTIMO

Switch from 3SAT to ZDF ... Somewhere between 8 sec. and 10 sec.

Here's the log...

Probably you need to send me the whole log.

To see if there is some slowness reported by minisatip.

Thank you

Here is a full log ...

TV on
Zaping to ZDF HD -> 3SAT HD -> Das Erste HD -> ZDF HD
TV off

Performance might also be a signal problem, since I can't tune to any of the "Private Channels" (Pro7, Sat1, ...)
And also OSCAM descamblings works very unreliably (acctually I only got it to work just once :) )

Thank you for your support.

Hi,

I am not sure which binary you are using (as it is not using the "special" code for ARM FBC receivers), but feel free to use the one for arm from here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=371

About descrambling, I would suggest using tcp mode for now, as the socket mode is not fully tested and needs a small patch on the oscam side to work.

The oscam settings for tcp mode are here: github.com/manio/vdr-plugin-dvbapi

Thanks

Btw, the oscam issue opened (and no update) for the local socket mode is here:
http://www.streamboard.tv/oscam/ticket/4625

but again, please test with tcp mode from manio's web page.

VU+ ULTIMO has no ARM Processor - It's a MIPS Processor ...
I believe I downloaded the binary for the page you mentioned ... I'm using

minisatip_mips_gigablue_dvbcsa.zip

As for oscam - I tried TCP and also SOCKET - the oscam "server" does see the request - sometimes it even decodes the channel - but, still no picture on the screen.

I will test again ...

The question is - should I try to get a Digibit R1 - do they use the same code as minisatip - so would I have the same problems?

Hi,
digibit R1 uses the same minisatip code, but there is a small problem on devices running enigma (sometimes).

Try adding -1 2 argument and let me know if it works (if no, upload the logs).

:)

The latest version together with option "-1 2" works fine.
Zapping time is acceptable.
OSCAM via soket or TCP both work fine.
And even UHDTV works (at least the two test channels), allthough my VU+Ultimo ist not 4K :)

My startparamters are:

minisatip -1 2 -f -e 0 -o 192.168.x.x:9090

Still wondering, if it would make sense to swiitch to a Digibit R1 - or should I stay with my VU+Ultimo.
And - any recomendations on which image to use? Currently I'm using VTI - but I have disabled and deactivated most of the software in the image - since none is needed for minisatip - So maybe a stripped down OpenPLI would make more sense ... Or maybe build an dedicated minisatip Image?

Thanx again for your support
