Hi cata,

i am still using the mentioned setup (ubuntu 16.04 LTS, 3 Netceiver-Cards with 6 tuners via VLAN) - but i somehow got a problem with a recent system-update with seems to introduce a problem i cannot solve.

enp1s0.4 is the virtual adapter with binds the VLAN 4 to the network-card. nothing is changed here, was working flawlessly during the last years.

however, starting minisatip with minisatip -f -n enp1s0.4:1 i get the follwing output:

Code: Select all

[01/09 01:29:20.878 main]: minisatip version 1.0-unknown, compiled with s2api version: 050A
Cannot get MTU size for enp1s0.2 index 8: No such device
Cannot get hardware address for enp1s0.2, interface index 8 : No such device
Cannot get MTU size for enp1s0.1 index 7: No such device
Cannot get hardware address for enp1s0.1, interface index 7 : No such device
[01/09 01:29:25.896 main]: Initializing with 0 devices
i somehow cannot access/find the netceiver-cards - and additionally: why it is trying to access enp1s0.1 and .2 ? Ive tried older versions, 0.7.16 and below - i do not get connection to the netceiver-cards any more and i think i did not get the error saying that minisatip tries to work on enp1s0.1 and enp1s0.2 on there versions as well, so there might be a underlying problem. any idea on this?

thanks a lot & best regards
Carsten

ps: starting with -l -l -l i get (aborted with ctrl-c):

Code: Select all

I think the vdr plugin is trying to iterate over all interfaces and those are not enabled...can you try enablng them ?

Hi cata,

those interfaces are not defined. Ive shut down vdr and vdradmin-am, got the same output.

What comes into my mind is, that the output of minisatip...

Code: Select all

Cannot get MTU size for enp1s0.1 index 7: No such device
Cannot get hardware address for enp1s0.1, interface index 7 : No such device
Cannot get MTU size for enp1s0.2 index 8: No such device
Cannot get hardware address for enp1s0.2, interface index 8 : No such device
... does not actually refer to a interface enp1s0.1 and .2 but is crippled and is referring to the virtual VLAN-adapter enp1s0.100 and .200?

what is emitting this errors? Youve mentioned to enable these interfaces in vdr - how to do so?

thanks & best regards

Try ifconfig -a, this will show all the interfaces. The code doing this is in th vdr plugin rather than minisatip so I cannot help much. Minisatip uses it for accessing the devices

Hi cata,

thanks for the support. Found the reason: The Netceiver-Board was faulty. Exchanged and now up & working again.

best regards
