Need help configuring minisatip server to show only DVB-T2 tuner only.

Post by cavallino » Tue Oct 09, 2018 4:44 pm

Hello,
I have an enigma2 sat receiver (Gigablue Quad UHD 4K) which is actually configured to watch only DVB-T2 channels (I have no sat dish insalled yet).
My receiver has eight FBC tuners and one DVB-T2 so:

NIM Sockets 0-7 are:
Type: DVB-S2
Name: DVB-S2 NIM(45208 FBC)
Frontend_Device: 0-7
I2C_Device: 3

While NIM Socket 8 is:
Type: DVB-T2
Name: GIGA DVB-T2/C NIM (TT2L10)
Has_Outputs: yes
Frontend_Device: 8
Mode 0:DVB-C (not active)
Mode 1:DVB-T2 (active)
I2C_Device: 4

Basically, I would like to start minisatip by using only the DVB-T2 tuner...
because when I start it the classic way, with just "/etc/init.d/minisatip start", I can see all tuners from 0-8 (with signal offline) by going to "http://myserverip:8080/"
but every client I have tried only show the 8 DVBs2 tuners, from A to H, and so I can't scan DVB-T2 channels, which are the only ones I can see.

Thanks in advance for a possible help

Hello cata,

your solution to add -e 8 to command line, for my GIGABLUE receiver, works perfectly!
I can now see and scan only DVB-T/T2 channels with it! Thanks.

But I also have another receiver (dm 900, with triple tuner, no FBC) and this time it seems more tricky to make minisatip see only the DVB-T tuner.
On this dm900, by doing a "cat /proc/bus/nim_sockets" I get this:

Code: Select all

NIM Socket 0:
        Input_Name: A1
        Type: DVB-T2
        Name: Si2169C
        Has_Outputs: no
        Mode 0: DVB-C
        Mode 1: DVB-S2
        Mode 2: DVB-T2
        Frontend_Device: 0
        I2C_Device: 4

NIM Socket 1:
        Input_Name: A2
        Type: DVB-S2
        Name: Si2169C
        Has_Outputs: no
        Mode 0: DVB-C
        Mode 1: DVB-S2
        Mode 2: DVB-T2
        Frontend_Device: 1
        I2C_Device: 4
So I have tried to add to command line:
-e 0 (minisatip recognize always all three modes DVB-S/C/T)
-e 1 (same as above)
-e 0-2,1-2 (same as above)

Do you have any hint for a command to use for this dm900, to make minisatip show only the DVB-T ("Mode 2") connected?

Thanks.

Hello,

I took this log while I connected a client (pc side) to the minisatip server, with a channel opened on the DVB-T tuner.
Please tell me if this part of copied log can help or ... do I have to attach a full log file? Thanks.

Hi,

you need to upload the entire log to see how the devices are detected.

Thank you

Hello cata,

I have tried to do this:
I used the Gigablue receiver (which, thanks to you, can be seen as a DVB-T tuner only) as minisatip server, and successfully completed a full DVB-T channels scan with my Panasonic TV connected as SAT>IP client.
I then turned off the Gigablue receiver, and replaced it with the dm900, and associated to it the same IP address of the Gigablue. So I started minisatip server on dm900, and on my TV I can tune all the SAT>IP channels previously scanned with the Gigablue, which had the same IP address.

But I have a big problem with dm900: after around 8 seconds I am watching a channel, the channel suddenly disappear with a "no signal" message on my TV. It does this with every channel i tune into... at first when I switch channel it works, but only like 7-8 seconds, then the video disappear.

Do you have an idea of what might cause this problem on dm900?
This problem does not happen with Gigablue receiver, the stream is stable, only with dm900.
Both receivers are using OpenATV 6.2 as image and they have the same minisatip version.

I attach this log, maybe it also helps you to find out how devices are detected on dm900, to configure it on minisatip as a DVB-T only:

Re: Need help configuring minisatip server to show only DVB-T2 tuner only.

Post by cata » Fri Oct 19, 2018 4:25 am

you need to upload a log by playing a stream and when it stops stop minisatip. Potentially you need also tvh logs.

About the DVB-T you can use -y 0:dvbt,1:dvbt

Thank you
